Credit Card Problems

Credit cards are very helpful in this present evolving time. But what will you do if trouble arises? Face them; credit card problems are at times inevitable. Your credit cards can be damaged, lost, stolen, captured or even cloned! How can you solve such harms?

And most of all prevent such hassles?

Your credit card can be damaged. Your credit card usually becomes thin and prone to breakage due to frequent use or swiping at terminals. Sometimes, the magnetic stripe at the back of your credit card becomes unreadable too. In effect, you might not be able to use it when you need to.

To prevent such inconvenience, be sure to check always your credit cards for cracks

and excessive swiping marks before and after you use it. You will know if your credit cards have been excessively swiped if they have too many or too deep straight white markings already on the card.

Your credit cards have expiration too. Expiry dates are embossed in your credit cards. Though this is rarely to happen, but sometimes you aren’t mindful that there is such a thing as credit card expiration. Though at times you know it but usually forget about it and still use it. So to prevent troubles at department and other establishments, be sure also to check the expiration date of your credit cards. Nearly all credit card issuers send the replacement card to their cardholders nearly more than a month before the current card expires. But sometimes problems occur when sending the card. This may be due to change in your address. Another is when you, yourself, misplace the new card.

Your credit card is constantly at risk to be lost or stolen. To prevent it from happening, always secure your things where you can see it. If it has happened already, then it’s about time to call for help. If you know the customer hotline of your credit card issuer, it’s best to notify them the soonest you notice your card has been lost or found out that it is stolen. Therefore keeping a record of your credit card details in a secure place is also a good preventive measure. Know by heart also the customer hotline number of your credit card issuer so you will need not to check on the directory or call another operator to find or ask for it.

Your credit card can also be cloned too. Cloning of credit card is a crime, considered as credit card theft. Like cloning, your actual credit card can be copied and duplicated as if it has a twin. And like genuine credit cards, it can be used anywhere to buy items or avail of services. So you will be charge for things or services that you have no account for. Typically, this kind of duplication happens in places like in restaurants where the card is brought to the cashier away from you. So there’s no chance you can see what they do with your card while you are busy chatting with your companion. To avoid this kind of threat, be on guard when paying with your credit card. Especially when you can’t see it, be mindful of time that has passed after they took the credit card. If it takes longer than usual, it’s best to find your card. Better to be safe, than sorry!

Replacement of credit card solves majority of the problems arising from credit card’s usage. And this may be an additional expense for the cardholder. Credit card replacement fee ranges from four hundred pesos (PHP400.00) to five hundred pesos (PHP 500.00) depending on the type of card and its issuer. So to keep incurring such expense, please keep an eye on your credit card.
